From 12–14 June 2026, one of the season’s most prestigious sailing events takes place – Sandhamn Open, organised by KSSS. Over three intense days, offshore sailors from across Sweden and Scandinavia gather to test their skills on the waters off Sandhamn in Stockholm’s outer archipelago.
Sandhamn Open is more than just a race – it serves as the Swedish Championship in Offshore Racing and is the absolute highlight of the season for the serious offshore sailor. The event is run across three classes: Swedish Championship in Offshore Racing (ORCi) Fullcrew, Offshore & Inshore Racing (SRS) Fullcrew, and Offshore Racing (SRS) Shorthanded – meaning that sailors at all levels and in various boat types have the opportunity to compete for top places.
The waters around Sandhamn offer one of the most challenging and spectacular sailing environments in Sweden. The ruggedness and beauty of the archipelago provide a unique and demanding racecourse where tactics, skill and experience are decisive. Wind can shift quickly, and rocks and currents demand concentration and knowledge – it’s precisely these challenges that make winning the Championship title in Sandhamn one of the most honoured achievements in Swedish sailing.
Beyond the racing, the weekend offers a fantastic social atmosphere in Sandhamn harbour, with skipper meetings and prize-giving events that unite crews in shared joy and camaraderie.
